I just had to do this for an Athlon XP 2500+ and a Volcano 11+.

I followed the instructions the HSF came with and put it underneath the CPU. You have to angle it as in the above picture, and then the thin wires run between the pins. I've not had a problem booting the computer. I am though having some CPU temp issues.

Perhaps I should change the location? But then, the temp readings are from the BIOS, not the HSF.

No trees were harmed in the creation of this message. However, many electrons were displaced and terribly inconvenienced.
