I owned a Samsung player for a little while & was deeply unimpressed - I bought a Toshiba to replace it & it was a lot better. I ended up getting a 2nd hand Denon 2910 & it does the job nicely (It upscales from both its DVI & HDMI outputs into my TV & Projector, though not at the same time - at the projectors native resolution 720p
