Wireless audio transmission

Been searching for a cheap and reliable means of broadcasting audio from my PC to stereos around my flat for ages. Wi-fi is overkill, as are video senders. Tried Arkon Soundfeeder.. but it runs off batteries.

Have now found the ideal piece of kit. Its a LineX USB stereo audio transmitter (model number AT-2011).

It uses a USB port which provides two important benefits - 1) No need for batteries, and 2) No need to pass the audio through a soundcard (which degrades the signal).

It shows up as USB speakers and will relay any audio coming from the PC, e.g. mp3, streams, over an one of 7 preset FM frequencies upto a range of 45m. Technically illegal to use in the UK.. but you could always take it on holiday!

Price ~£20.

Where do you get one? On a well known auction site... did I mention searching for "wireless audio transmitter pc"??!

cheers,
dave
