Try different USB ports, try a USB extension cable. See if that makes any difference, it might be loading that port, or interference that is the issue.
That the noise disappears, is probably because it is 'masked' by onset of another sound. (Science bit; Your auditory periphery triggers preferentially to broader band sound.)
Is your computer a laptop? Casual searching of google for "usb bluetooth causes high pitched" goives several discussions and fixes for that issue.
