Sound recording and editing software needed
I need to convert some tapes to cd's for a friend. I did it before using the creative sound recorder and wave studio, but when i tried to install creative stuff it broke my sound (had to use restore points) and I can't be bothered to fight it out between the two sound cards again. Does anyone know of a free program which will let you record the line-in signal (needs to allow up to 90 mins recording, none of those "30 seconds in demo mode" things please). And then I need some wave editor to just cut it into tracks - something that shows the wave signature so I can spot the quiet bits or better still something that may cut it automatically (although its choir music with weird pauses mid songs and may require human supervision).
Seeing as its only a few tapes I am doing I don't want to buy anything, but if there is something REALLY good and cheap I may consider splashing out.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
