the advanced mode is a great improvement on the standard interface, providing a KDE desktop.
However I then moved onto
eeeXubuntu which seems to work well, being focussed on the eee & using the much lighter weight Xfce desktop. I re-used all the standard 4Gb.
On of the benefits is a functional hibernate mode - faster boot than from cold & no power usage - unlike sleep.
plan on going to 2GB - it's DDR2 SODIMM - scan have it for under £30, but seems a bit mean to use free p&p fro so little, so waiting till I need to order more than that...
