| Connecting my PC to net via O2 GPRS (PAYG) - Is it possible?
As I have no internet access at home right now, and it could be some time before BT fix my phone line (even dial-up is not posible), i was hoping to connect my PC using my mobile to get my email etc on the odd occasion. I am currently 'between contracts' at the moment, so just using an O2 Pay-As-You-Go Sony Erricson K610i.
I have installed Sony Erricson PC suite and connected my phone. PC suite shows it connected fine when i connect to the internet - even shows up/down totals (which change a bit as i request websites via firefox) and connection speed. However, any website requests just time out (server not responding) quickly.
Whats going on? Are O2 blocking the traffic? Am i missing a setting? Any idea how to get it working for PAYG 02 phones? Has anyone here managed to do it succesfully? |
