Well, I finally made it past Slash last night! I used a similar approach, but kept 3 of them until the sudden death bit at the end, when you have no more notes to play. I zapped him 3 times, and just as I got him the last time, I saw the "Death Drain" message appear. Both of our rock meters were going down, but he bit the dust with mine still about half full! One play through the encore track and I called it a night.
Has anyone here signed up on the
Guitar Hero Community - Home web site and linked your game to your account? It keeps a record of your best scores and ranks you against all the other players. You can also play tournaments online, where you have to play certain songs in a 24 hour period, and it keep track of your highest scores. No chance of getting anywhere near the top (the people who do know exactly when to use Star Power for the optimum score, visit
Score Hero - Home and see their discussions!) but it's still fun.
