Re: Do Corsair PSUs have the appropriate connectors for the 9800GX2?

Yellowbeard, Thank you for providing this additional information. What I am really trying to ascertain however is if the HX620 Power supply comes with 6+2 connectors such that I can meet this requirement:
PCI-SIG accepts the adoption of 6+2-pin plugs that can accommodate both 6-pin and 8-pin receptacles.
Hence providing power to the 8 pin and the 6 pin slot on the card as I can use 6+2 for the 8 pin and just the 6 for the 6 pin.

or

are the provided connectors 8-pin in size without an offset clip hence resulting in them not fitting in the 6-pin slot The HX page on the corsair website shows what appears to be a fixed 8-pin connector.

It is unclear to see if the last two pins are on a clip or are physically attached and I question this since the description reads “PCI-E 8 pin” instead of “PCI-E 6+2 pin” as listed for the VX Series which has a different picture of 6 pins with two detached.

What is even more confusing is that the TX Series shows the the image used by the VX series for "PCI-E 6+2" but has the caption “PCI-E 8 pin”.

I am however interested in what is provided with the HX620 and im just referencing the others to try and asertain consitancy.

I would post images and links but the forum wont allow me to do so until i have aquired 5 posts.

Sorry to keep asking, I just want to be certain I will be able to use the card and the power supply together out of the box!

Thanks for your feedback!
