I only have the one input at the moment (just my Xbox 360) and I won't need to use the speakers for anything else, so I'm finding it hard to justify spending £180 on an amp and however much more on speakers.

Superior sound quality. Massive flexibility in the future (you can connect xbox, ps3, pc, plus everything else) to the amp and have it doing the sound and video switching.
But if you are
only ever going to use a 360 with it then its probably not worth it. Just go for on of those xbox 360 speaker pack thingies then
