In my experience they're owned by:
1) People who say "Money? not sure what it is... someone tried explaining the concept to me once but I just didn't understand it really, apparently it has something to do with my Platinum cards ?"
2) Middle aged women (the only "average" member of society that can afford to insure it) and usually driven by their husband/son. Amazing how many new Scooby's and M3's you see driven by middle aged women.
3) Young men in their early 20's who live at home and don't mind spending £800+/month on car/insurance/fuel - usually only own it for <12 months before realising how insane the spending is.
4) True petrol-heads who have worked hard to get to a position where they can afford it, acheived a good few years driving experience and NCB to be able to insure it, and love the car so much the fuel is a reasonable sacrifice - the minority unfortunately.

Drug dealears prefer the large black 4x4's with limo black windows, stands out like a sore thumb in the daytime, but at night with the lights off it can disappear into the darkness off-road when needed.
