with the ps3 you can take out and upgrade the hdd without breaking the warranty. sony even have instructions on how to do so
What are the specs on the type of drives you can use? I have a couple of old SataI drives (120gb and 160gb) lying around, could I use one of those? Unfortunately the proxy is kinda restrictive here so I can't go checking game/console related sites.
