Can open, worms everywhere
Personally I hosted my bands e.p on several file sharing services after we had it recorded, mainly because at my stage in the industry (broke and nowhere) any extra person you can get listening to your music is a good thing. When you're where Metallica are at (one of the biggest names in the business) I can see how protecting your music could become a priority. They shot themselves in the foot image wise and eight years down the line now they're supporting it, the new album will be available for download on the day of release, live bootlegs of every concert they've played in years are available from their website (they've always supported recorders afaik which is something I admire in any band) and now they're working on DLC for Guitar Hero 3.
Fair play to them I say.
Trash, you going to be making a pilgrimage to Reading or Leeds to see them this year?
