| Theater 650 auto gain and console game capturing I'm capturing some N64 games with the Theater 650 on S-Video. I'm having big problems with the automatic gain. It auto adjusts way too much and will often end up too dark, too light, and change rapidly depending on where I'm looking in the game. Sometimes it stops adjusting entirely, locked at too bright/too dark. I'm not sure how the hysteresis/moving average/whatever-they-use works but it's strange and bad for video games apparently.
It's really quite awful honestly. It seems to work fine in outdoor areas, but go indoors and it cranks the brightness way up (or contrast down) and everything is super washed out.
I don't suppose this "wonderful" feature can be disabled can it? I can't get the ATI control panel for the Theater chips to even install. It fails to register, so says the installer. Heh.
