Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners

hi everyone i tried this out today and this is my first time ocing ..

My specs are:
Intel C2D e6300@2.66ghz 1.225v lowest voltage
Zalman CNPS9500 Heatsink
Corsair xms2 ddr2-800 4-4-4-12

Well I followed this guide and everything came out working and I didnt blow nothing up so im happy. My cpu is running at 2.66ghz @ 1.225v im not to sure if im suppose to up my voltage as its the lowest one but it seems to run stable. My ram is set at 4-4-4-12 timings 1:1 ratio but I left the voltage at AUTO not to sure what I should put it to but the ram is rated to be 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v .. My temperature right now is 66 C at full load is that a little to high? My computer has been on for awhile now though probably like 10 hours or more .. I ran ortho for 4-5 hours at 2.33ghz 1.225v passed everything and I was running a stable 60 C at full load ..

I want to get my CPU at 3.0ghz without it getting to hot im going to try and clean my heatsink + reapply thermal compound because I f'd up and put too much when I installed the heatsink but wiped some off couple months after lol .. Also I want my ram to run at 400 FSB 800 mhz .. If anyone can help me and see if im doing everything right so far id be greatly appreciated .. THANKS
