If you can get a USB soundcard with RCA inputs (as opposed to 2xRCAs > 3.5" jack) then all the better for recording, there is a mammoth difference in sound quality.
They don't need to be expensive, the one I've used (for the same purposes of recording mixes) is a Soundblaster X-Fi SB0270. I sourced mine in the states a couple of years ago (when the exchange rate was better!). It's not got bells and whistles and different DSPs, but for a portable sound I/O USB soundcard it's more than a bargain.
