A relative has the 32" version of the Panny and it seems excellent. I can only vouch for the SD picture but it really did seem much better than any other LCD i've seen (Which is not alot admittedly). Build quality wise the Panny is great too.
Can't say i know anything of that Samsung, only thing i will say is my Samsung LCD i have in my bedroom has served me well for the 2 years i've had it.
