Not on the HD formats - optical can only output 2 channel LPCM due to the bandwidth constraints. So you need to either:

A. As noted, a straight optical connection, to give DTS and DD5.1.

or

B. Analogue cables to your amp and a player that will convert HD audio formats to LPCM for playback over the analogue connection.
