Scansure is basket based only applied only to the products the Policy covers.

Angry Re: ScanSure Installation Insurance - Very Impressive

I've hit a problem with ScanSure:

I placed an order that wasn't delivered (Citylink claimed to have tried and carded but there was someone in and no card) so I asked Scan to recover the package and make a refund.

When I received the refund, it was less the ScanSure premium. When I queried this, they responded saying that the insurance fee was non-refundable once the order had been completed. This implies that the insurance commences at order completion time.

The page here: http://www.scan.co.uk/Scansure/Index.aspx and the linked ScanSure PDF both say that the insurance starts once the order has been received and signed for and not when it is completed.

Scan have invited me to take up Scansure T&C's Complaints procedure with the insurer!

    Thanks Chris.

Update: I have just been contacted by CS via phone who have advised that they will be refunding the ScanSure premium.

    Thank you.

I appreciate that this problem was probably 'a first' for Scan due to the items being returned for refund without them ever having been delivered.

    Hi

It certainly was a first and as such we needed to seek clarification from the insurers, becuase you never took delivery and cancelled the entire contract of sale then only becuase of the TWO facts was the refund was applicable.

Except that, with free delivery, as far as I can make out you might as well just place two orders - one for the items you want insured, and one for the others.

OK, so if I order something and then I see a stage 5 email for a scansure product that I didn't add to my basket, will you refund that item?

So just to clarify, the only time that we would know that we had this scansure policy is when we get the stage 5 email, but the stage 5 email comes after the stage 4 email that tells you that the item has been dispatched and as such, you can't have a refund on it?

No the stage 5 e-mail is not the only time a customer would notice Scansure or the charge, which is as noticible as the Carriage, Net Total VAT and Total order value.

Please read this thread in full and also search the other threads relating to this service to seek the answer's you need.

This has been discussed in full already.

    Chris,

The Carriage, Net Total VAT and Total order value are all things I'd expect to be there, whereas the scansure item isn't. Why would it be there because I didn't put it there.

I have read this thread and part of the other thread that hasn't been edited or deleted.

This has been discussed in full already.
    Ah that old chestnut.

I was wondering when that was going to be used. If you can't be bothered directing me to the correct information, then maybe someone else that can, could post instead? Please remember I'm a paying customer.

I am also impressed with Scan's customer support. RMA's I've done in the past have gone smoothly. Always prompt responses on scan's forum on bit tech. Well done
