sorry for the delay in replying but I've been away travelling without internet for a week or so & obviously no one else replied ...
Your new CPU is a 333fsb model & 330-350 is about all that you can expect out of a 680i with a quad so it's pretty much already at the board's limit with the CPU at stock.

Is it safe to say the old forums were removed because of the amount of complaints there were from (mostly novice) people. It's to bad the valuable informative posts made by the great members there were lost, I was extremely disappointed to see all of that replaced by this single forum. Unless I'm missing something, ABIT replaced a robust in-depth forum containing many categories with this single forum? How does this place provide better support? Beyond frustrating.
No, you've got it wrong.
The abit forums for years were provided by abit USA but abit USA essentially packed up shop about a year ago. Subsequently the servers were moved to Taiwan but there didn't really seem to be anybody there with the time/knowledge to keep them running well.
When abit decided to stop making mobos & then more recently decided not to make anything at all they or their parent company appear to have pulled the plug on the forum.
This forum at Hexus co-existed for a no. of years with the abit USA one - this one was staffed by abit Europe but they too no longer are here.
Another site with several of the senior/experienced abit users from the abit USA forum as members is the abit section at The Raptor Pit forums.
