| sounds like a memory leak to me, or it could be an antivirus problem as others have said. Especially if your using a resource heavy one like norton. What virus scanner you got? if you have a crap one such as McAfee or AVG then you may have a virus and not no it, both of those failed to pick up a virus ever on my machine whilst a pre install scan with panada or norton both picked up a virus [ a test one on a floppy]
