Both me and my dad had similar problems.

In my case it was a lambda zond and a stepper mottor that needed replacing. (250 quid with labour i think).
In my fathers case it was an air valve or summing - i think that was 150 quid (or might've been 250 again, i forget).

To find out properly they'd need to read in the error code. Which is about 30 quid on its own.
