As has been mentioned these are usually covered by dedicated schemes, and are valued on their worth etc and not on groupings.
At 17/18 though you will have problems trying to find someone to conver you though - although it can be done.
Would be worthwhile joing something like the NSRA/NASC and using thier insurance scheme.
Just to give you an idea, a mate insured a road legal drag car with 600bhp and N2O for just a touch over £200 (albeit he is 32), im a named driver on a very old truck thats been modified from std for <£200 - both on limited mileages though
