Problems with logitech Z-5500's And DVD Player

Hi all. I have the logitech Z-5500's and a sony cd/dvd player. Im trying to watch my dvds with the sound coming from my 5500's but it wont work. Im using the audio out on the dvd player and connecting them up with coaxial cable. I dont know why it wont work. ive used diff cables in case that one was broken. Can any of you guys help me?
