I actually bought them on your recommendation, so your input is appreciated.
I've tried them on the television and mp3 player, but I'm afraid we're not having any luck. Funnily enough I can't even afford a replacement cable at the moment, but as soon as I can I'll be testing it and updating this post
You are right though - HD570s are amazing. Whilst they're still a bit busted at the moment, I've grown so fond of them that I wear them anyway. Keeps the ears warm when the window's open! If the new cable doesn't work, I've promised myself a pair of HD600s for christmas... hopefully it won't come to that, but either way I still win :>
