Speaker Stands 101...

Well hello again guys. Since this is my first 'serious' attempt at a decent home theatre I'm looking for advice on speaker stands but not about commercial stuff.

Simply put it is going to cost way too much to purchase some here and ship home and these can not be purchased back home.

However, I could get a carpenter to make me the stands and I could get it done out of real wood (ebony, teak, etc etc) or MDF (lol)...

As for the speakers in question they are DM602s and DM601s - none of them have been supplied with 'feet' - now is it important to have any between the speakers and stand?

And should the center column of whatever stands I get made be filled with sound-proofing material?

Thanks a lot guys,

Mike
