update - remote arrived in the post this morning at work
...yet to be tested of course, but remotes are pretty durable things! Have to say that the Crystal divx player (with remote!) is a very effective little piece of kit for the price. Might be a bit old now though. tbh I'd really like one of the KISS dvd players with ethernet and possibly an inbuilt amp...
