Definitely not, presumably he only did that to back up the story he is going to use to explain how you-know-who will have managed to get out of the bunker and back across the island.
Drink driving aside, I don't think that the second one to be you-know-what'ed is really you-know-what either...because we haven't seen their 'back story' episode which has been alluded to previously, and they haven't exactly been telling the truth about their history.
BTW there does need to be 2 'Lost' threads, because the other one is about 18 episodes behind this one and they may not appreciate the spoilers
