Guilty as charged, although in my defence (at least of the most recent case) I was merely quoting a film verbatim, where the swearword was an unfortunately essential element of the humorous dialogue....I believed the use of stars to be an acceptable compromise, obviously I was wrong. But when Radio 1 et al can play any song they like, leaving but the briefest pause around vulgarities, and leaving nothing to the immagination, where do 'family values' begin and end?

And really, how many under 10s (a very idilistic estimation of the age at which most kids are entirely fluent in swearing) frequent these forums. Who are we afraid of offending exactly? I'm not saying that telling people to stop swearing is a bad thing (I've got two young kids and would be happy to see most if not all swear words banned altogether), I'm just wondering what the point is....

please don't shout at me
