One reason I made this topic over various forums is because of my annoyance at Abit, because they never regularly update the details on their website.

They need to get a decent webmaster who puts his heart & sole into the job & doesnt just copy over driver details for the AB9 Pro to the AB9 QuadGT.

The amount of times I've e-mailed Abit Taiwan to ammend website details, update various things, I feel like I'm a Guinea Pig in a Laboratory but the trouble is if I dont do it no one else will bother.

when the newer intel chips are released with the 1333FSB, will this motherboard be able to handle them? it was said that a bios update for most motherboards would be needed to do so? if that is true, has that already been released, or are there plans to do so?

It already runs them, currently you just need to manually configure them in the BIOS.

Trying to load XP, getting C0000221 unknown hard error\system root\system 32\ntdll.dll error. Looked it up and says may be corrupted file.

Haven't loaded any other files or drivers on yets.

Haven't flashed new BIOS. Can that be done from CD or do I have to flash from floppy disc?
thanks for any help and assistance

you need to give more info as to your hardware setup & ideally you should have posted a new thread for your problem.

As for flashing the BIOS to a certain extent it depends what 1 it's on to start with.
if it's the original 10 you can't flash from USB but any later you can.

oh, & you can edit your posts to add information.

    Hi

I have a problem with my AB9 QuadGT mobo. It makes a very annoying high frequency noise whenever the PC is turned off (but still pluged in with a power cord). The noise disappear after some minutes when I turn on the PC.

First I thought it was my PSU that was the problem, but after changing the PSU the problem is still there.

I have located the problem to have something to do with my GFX (XFX 8800GTS 320M). The noise is only there, when the GFX is installed with power cord and a monitor cable. Whenever i remove the monitor cable the noise disappear. I have tried changing the monitor clable, but that did not solve the problem. I have also tried changing the GFX, but that did aso not solve the problem.

Have any of you experienced a problem like this?

abit have now released BIOS 15 for the QuadGT - it fixes the broken The ICH8R RAID / boot from SATA optical that 14 re-introduced. I am currently running Richh 'fixed' 14, but will try the new official 15.

    ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/bios/ab9quadgt/

Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
