    is my ab9 quadgt bugged?

i'm wondering if my mobo has something wrong with it or not since i can't overclock my cpu pass a certain point without going into the high voltages.

first off .. TAT doesn't work for some reason. it gives me an "error enumerating on demand clock modulation support". does that occur with anyone else?

for voltage monitoring - coretemp's 0.95 VID just stays at 1.35v no matter if i change it or not. speedfan shows my vcore at 1.62v, my +12v at 9.82v and AVcc at 3.17v

also i've noticed that when booting up, for some odd reason the sata drives are listed as

    SATA 1
    SATA 3
    SATA 2
    SATA 4
    SATA 5
    SATA 6

i have mine put in 1 & 2 .. but for some reason it's not in order

and lastly .. i've noticed at least with this mobo that my voltage is totally off by .1 or .2. for example my e6600 is suppose to be at 1.35v default - uguru is showing that it's around 1.33-1.34v .. is that something to worry about?

i've tried bios 11 & 13 .. and nothing has fixed this. i'm currently using 11 right now.

and a side question .. i've tried to register multiple times to the abit forums .. and i never get a registration e-mail. is their database funked, or am i just getting bad luck

Yep TAT for some reason has never worked with the Quad.

The overclocking bit I will leave to the experts.

Your +12 volt for your PSU output is kinda worrying what does it say in uGuru?
9.82v is bloody low tbh. What PSU do you have and what are its +12 volt rails?

well there is a discrepancy between the two software. i would suppose i'd be agreeing with uGuru .. but iono why speedfan is all wacked out.

without knowing what other hardware that you are running, what you have tried & what you have achieved it's impossible to say - maybe you have a poor clocking CPU.

first off .. TAT doesn't work for some reason. it gives me an "error enumerating on demand clock modulation support". does that occur with anyone else?
as already stated TAT doesn't work on this mobo but that's not unique - iirc it doesn't run on some Asus' as well.

speedfan shows my vcore at 1.62v, my +12v at 9.82v and AVcc at 3.17v
weird, i would go by uGuru's readings.

also i've noticed that when booting up, for some odd reason the sata drives are listed as

    SATA 1
    SATA 3
    SATA 2

pass but it doesn't really matter.

it's not something to worry about - 2 possible reasons, Vcore droop or sensor error (1.33/1.35 is only a 1.5% discrepancy).

and a side question .. i've tried to register multiple times to the abit forums .. and i never get a registration e-mail. is their database funked, or am i just getting bad luck

Correct early week I.E week 24 conroe 6600 cannot go past 3.8(424FSB) weeks 27 -31 however can clock realy high without a massive volt increase. After that theses cpus dont oc as well and need more volts.

Have you tried upping the vdimm, or MCH voltage? Another technique is to loosen the timings of your ram, to put less strain on the memory I.E CAS timings

the only thing i've found stable is at 350x8 @ 1.40v .. that is without tweaking the cpu vtt, mch, ichio, ich. memory timings was 5-5-5-15-2T. if i try for 400x8, that is bootable at 1.48v, but not stable so perhaps i'd need to tweak something else. but nonetheless, i find that rather high of a vcore just for that overclock.

well i've registered at least 3 tries with different e-mail addresses, and i've never gotten any confirmation email, so my account doesn't get activated for me to post.

    cooling, PSU, gfx?
are you running RAM at 1:1 & ~2.1V?
8x400 should be a dawdle perhaps you do have a very poor CPU.
