Abit IX38 Quad GT
Sean, can you just confirm the number of external usb sockets on this board I see the back panel has 4. The mobo has 4 usnb headers. Though there is no mention of a pci usb bracket, to connect to a mobo header. The accesory box Pic (bottom) doesn't show any bracket.
Shipping like that seems abit shoddy on what looks so far a great board. Am hoping to get mine soon currently on pre-order. thanks

I use the uGuro Clock GC-02 on 3 AB9 Quad GTs.... (get them off ebay) works well - but the later versions (if you can get them) cober more temp and fan speed displays I believe.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
Hi EtheAv8r,
Yep ino disrespect to sean but it does seem a bit weak Will have to look in my stuff may have a spare somewhere, but like you think it's a pretty petty ommision. Yeps that's why i asked, didn't fancy getting one that didn't cover features for this board. ![]() cheers

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
tbh I think it was more a lack of communication in the marketing department.
Also there should be a new version of the guru panel that supports the latest models. I don't have an official release date yet but I will keep you updated. |

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
Sean, I'm also looking for these items, I'm reviewing the board at the moment, and its one of the few areas that I've found so far that was a minus point.
4x USB on a flagship board is enough to put many people off. I have a USB keyboard and mouse, and my front panel and card reader use the other two, then theres my external hard drives..you can see where I'm going here. Yes, we can buy a PCI plate from maplins, yes, I could buy a USB hub from anywhere, but really, on a flagship motherboard, we shouldnt have to, especially when you look at the bundles that other manufacturers give at a similar (or lower) price point. Just my 10p's worth

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
I hear what your all saying but its not my department. I can certianly pass on your comments to the PM department but working for a local office I have no control over the products sold.

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
I'm also miffed as to why provide the headers but not the bracket, if I count my currently connected USB devices, (x1 wireless desktop, x1 FreeAgent HD, x1 Flash Drive, x1 Voiphone) thats all four USB ports used up already.
In Abit's defence I think it's a case of oversight rather than penny pinching, and if anyone lives near a "Poundland Shop" I got a 4 port USB-2 hub for a quid, which actually works! |

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
Unacceptable excuse. You should have made a bigger box. You are not doing your company any favours by posting feeble excuses like this. I hope there was space for the motherboard.

Re: Abit IX38 Quad GT
But you can voice our opinion. I think the best thing you can do is get these USB brackets for us and ship them to whoever has bought this board with proof of purchase. I think this is only fair.
