    I did
But i never use them anyway....(thank gawd).

4 ports at the back and two on the front of my case will be plenty.

BTW.......when i first use the board to boot up and load Vista, is there anything i should know.

    eg.
    - Will i be able to load Vista on the shipped bios?
    - Will all my sata stuff work or will i need to load drivers for them beforehand? (rather than after Vista install)
If not, is there a floppy for the sata drivers so i can 'RAID UP' on the install?

    Cheers fella

should be fine but official bios 12
    is best.
I'm on xp but best follow this Vista Instyall for RAID.

I would have thought that Vista had RAID drivers for ICH9R.
if not though the system CD should now have a driver floppy creator utility that you can run from it & it will copy them to a floppy for you.

Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

    Hi,

I have just purchased an Abit IX38 and I would want to combine us an Intel E8400.
I probably will find in my mother card the bios 11, with this bios the motherboard will recognize the same the cpu?
Have i read on the site Abit that this cpu is exactly recognized by the bios 12, in this case as i can make the bios to flash?
With the bios 11 the motherboard allows me to make the flash to the version 12 however?
I answer this because i don't eventually have a cpu of support with which to enter in the bios and to operate the flash to the version 12 with a floppy disk....

    Thanks for your support

Re: **Official ABIT IX38 QuadGT Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Guys, I should be getting my board and all my stuff Q6600 on friday, I have already downloaded the latest drivers for the board from Abit and also the latest bios (got a bootable usb flash drive ready )

    I have uGuru downloaded also

Anything else I should download. I want to install the SATA drives using ACHI, so i have put the drivers on the USB stick which vista should pick up? Are all these drivers signed so they should work with Vista 64bit?

Also any tips on overclocking, I would be happy with 3.2GHZ from my Q6600 what would I need to achieve this?

To go to 3.2ghz, just raise the FSB.
You shouldnt have to increase volts (or maybe i just got lucky)

Also, if you are using PC6400 RAM, set the divider to 1:1:25 so the memory runs fairly close to around 820mhz

    ABIT iX38 QuadGT : Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz : Scythe Mine - 30 Degrees Idle~50 Degrees Load : 4gb OCZ Platinum PC6400 @ 4-4-4-12 : 2 x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB in CrossFire (whoooa Mama!) : Enermax MODU82+ 625W : Antec Nine Hundred : Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit
