IX38 Quad GT RAID/CD boot problem

I've installed raid0 on the intel controller with no problems. I have a SATA CD-ROM connected to an intel port, this works fine in windows, however, I can't boot from the CD-ROM whilst RAID is active. I've changed the boot order in the BIOS, but the RAID controller takes over and boots windows. The only way I can boot from the CD is to disable the RAID controller.

Is this an issue with the intel raid bios or the abit bios? I could do with a solution.

have you got the ODD selected by it's actual device name (i.e. if you scroll right down probably about 2nd or 3rd from bottom you'll find it by name rather than just SATA CDROM)?
