    Abit Fatal1ty F-190HD

Hello I wondered if anyone could help me.

I built a pc using these pc components:

    PSU: Cacecom 500w
    GPU:8600gt
    Ram:Elixir 512mbx2
    Motherboard:Fatal1ty f-19ohd
    CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
    HD: Maxtor 250g sata

When i booted it the fans all came on but the monitor which was plugged into the graphics card at the time didn't come off standby.
I did research on the internet and couldn't find any solutions but i got it working with the onboard graphics when the GPU isn't installed.
When it is installed i can't get the screen on from onboard or GPU and also the power switch won't turn off the pc which it will when the PCIe is empty.

#I've tried it out of the case so doesn't seem to be a short short circuit.
    #Different power supply
    #Differant hard drive
    #BIOS update
    #Installed all the newest drivers
#Turned "init dispel first = PCIe" on in BIOS
    #Tried different monitor
    #Different ram
    #Clearing the CMOS

Not sure what to do and can't find a UK number for ABIT to ask.
Could anyone please help me here?

It might be an issue with your PSU. Are you able to give it a try with a more powerfull one? I don't the brand Cacecom to be honest. Please give it a try with an A-Brand PSU (Like Coolermaster, Be Queit, Thermaltake etc.).

    Re: Abit Fatal1ty F-190HD

Hey i tried a different PSU.

The man at tech support said it sounded like it's incompatible with this graphics card, it's a palit 8600gt 1026mb with no aux power.
He told me to email the specs so they could try and test the setup.

That's great but I'm still £40 out of pocket

The first PSU is not enough for sure, it has just one 12V line with 17 Amps.

But a OCZ 700 Watt should be good enough. I think the board is broken when it doesn't work with the PSU. Would be a RMA then.

    Re: Abit Fatal1ty F-190HD

Yeah i bought a new board and it worked perfectly this time round(so far) had crysis up and running within a hour.

One more thing if you don't mind advising on, the power supply i use with this 8600gt/1gb/no aux power is the 17 amps power supply, I didn't think that would matter since it doesn't even have a aux power it can't require much.
You really think could cause a problem?
Worst that would happen is system restart/shut down?

Many thanks for your kind help.

    Re: Abit Fatal1ty F-190HD

    Hi to all.
This is my first post on this forum but from what i have read so for it look's to be a good one.
    Here goes
    I have a Abit Fatal1ty F-190HD
My problem is that whatever bios update i put in it it will not run in dual channel.
I can put 2 sticks of memory in slots 1&2 it will run put them in 3&4 it will run.
but if i put them in 1&3 or 2&4 to get dual channel it won't post nothing at all.
I thought it was a bios issue (and still do)but i have tried them all.
Any help would be appreciated (Sean)
Regard's to all and thank's in advance.
    Alan.

    Hi,

You would have been better starting your own thread for your own problem.
However, do you have your RAM set up properly (voltage etc.)?

It helps others to help you if they know exactly what you are dealing with.
Please supply a full system specification incl. make & models.
If you put it in your sig. or profile then you only have to do it once.

P.S. Sean no longer works for abit as they centralised European support to Holland.

Have you tried 1.9V or 2.0V depending upon RAM revision?
