IP35 Pro - screen receives no input

Two months into my new PC and it has suddenly stopped working. I was using it - left it on - went to have dinner - and when I get back all I can see is a black screen. I tried restarting and although the fans work, and the red and green light on the motherboard go on, the screen, mouse and keyboard seem to receive no input.

I swapped the screen with another one, and used a different cable to connect it and no change.

I let it cool down for 30 minutes and no change.

I then took off the hard disk and cd-rom and all connecitons other than the monitor cable - no change.

I cleared the CMOS - no change.

The POST inside shows the following on starting it up:

    9.9
    9.0
    C1
    C3
    05
    0d

It then stays at od - I can not find on the manual what 0d means.

My PC setup is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz Dual Core CPU Overclocked to 3.00Hz
    - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Intel approved cooler
    - Arctic Silver 5 Heatsink compound
    - Abit IP35 Pro XE Intel P35 (Socket LGA775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
    - Award winning Corsair Dominator 4GB PC2-8500 CAS5 (2x2GB) Dual Channel Kit
    - 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 32MB Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive
    - ATi Radeon HD 4870 X2 2048MB GDDR5 HDTV/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) DirectX 10.1 Graphics Cards
    - Pioneer DVR-216DBK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
    - Corsair TX 650W Next Generation Power Supply

Anyone knows what the problem could be?

    Many thanks

    Whoops, thanks.
Is your keyboard PS2 or USB?

Re: IP35 Pro - screen receives no input

I have the same error message myself. This is on the initial attempt to boot up. The code 0d is not mentioned anywhere in their manual.

0D Initialize video interface; Detect CPU clock, read CMOS location 14h to find the type of video in use, detect and initialize video adapter. This is with Award Bios Version 4.51PG so check which Award Bios it is using.
I also found this thread related to the AW9D Max
http://forums.techpowerup.com/archiv...p/t-31256.html Relates to a memory problem.
Remove all but one of your ram and boot with one. If you have some cheapo 667 around use that and see if it will post. Try each one of your ram chips individually and see what happens.
    Its an odd one!!!!!

Thank you so much Drat, and drat that crummy corsair memory! I replaced them with some older memory and it booted right up.

Re: IP35 Pro - screen receives no input

I am surprised. I have used Corsair on all my Abit builds inc IP35 Pro. I would memtest it and see which one is crapping out.
Question though, did you manually set the timings and voltage in the bios for the Ram? ie if the rams timings are timings of 4-4-4-12 and voltage 2.1 volts then you need to manually set these in the bios.
Otherwise tyou will get problems like this occurring.

Re: IP35 Pro - screen receives no input

I assume it is just bad memory (bought from Newegg). The board would not even pass POST and I could not even get into the BIOS menu. I reset the BIOS using the reset switch on the board and it still would not post. Not sure that I had any other option...

Re: IP35 Pro - screen receives no input

One thing you might want to look at is your ram voltage. Mine needs 2.1v and the default I believe is 1.8. This was a really vexing thing when I set up my board initially. Today I tried to put in a quad processor and found I didn't have the correct bios upgrade so I went back to my old processor, had to reset the bios and kept getting either the C1 or 0d halt. Then I realized that the voltage hadn't been reset. I shoulda' had a V8! I get wary of folks saying multiple memory sticks went bad; I don't think that's happened to me since the days of $100/megabit hard drives!
