    IP35 Pro Error Code 8.2

    Hello,

I've had this board for around two years with minimal problems. I decided to get a new case and swapped all my stuff into it. Trying to boot the system gives me 8.2 and then powers off. I have all the power hooked up correctly and i'm trying to get it to POST without any drives attached. I thought my psu had died so i picked up a CoolMaster Silent Pro 700M from the local computer shop and it does the same thing. I've tried to clear the CMOS, remove battery and still get the same thing happening 8.2. I'm thinking the mb is dead although the red power light comes on and the green vcc light turns on when i try to power it on (quickly ending in an 8.2 and the green light turns off)

    My system specs:

    IP35 pro
    Patriot Extreme Performance 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Silverstone OP650 650W PSU (and tried a new CoolMaster SilentPro M700)
    EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.5GHz

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: IP35 Pro Error Code 8.2

I have the 8-pin +12V for the CPU. I have the 24-pin for the main power and i have the molex on the mb for the extra PCI-X power. Also have the PCI-X power going to the video card. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

I'll try another PSU when i get back in town later in the week, but i've tried both of the ones i have in another system and they work fine. Hoping not to have to change out the mb.

    thanks

Re: IP35 Pro Error Code 8.2

i have an ip35 as well. i had the exact same issue (green light indicating it's receiving juice, turn on the power, powers back off after about half a second), with the board code 8.2. which seems to be a power supply error.

i just bought a new psu and hooked it up. now rather than simply starting up and immediately (as in half a second) power back off with the aforementioned board code, it will perform a loop of this. however rather than post a board code of 8.2. it will power up with 8.3. (ATX power supply ready) cycle a series of numbers and power off with 9.9. (Complete power off sequence). repeat ad nauseum.

at this point i'm not sure if it's a second bad power supply, a short somewhere or the motherboard going out on me. anyone have any ideas?

well from what you have posted above it looks to me like the board is alive but doesn't like something power-wise.

Try booting with only 2 sticks of memory installed. Once you get a clean boot re-install the other
2 sticks of memory. This process worked for me.
