| IN9 32X-Max and the Q9550 I upgraded my CPU today from a Q6600 to a Q9550. I have the latest bios installed via floppy method. For the Q9550 install, I reset bios by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes, then made adjustments to the bios. I assume that it's normal for this board to not recognize the Q9550 but still shows the 2833Mhz speed. Since this CPU was in the supported list I figured it would OC. I have it stable at stock speeds but cannot seem to get it to OC and hope there is someone who can help me. System specs: IN9 32X-Max (bios 15) Q9550 E0 w/Zalman 9500 G-Skill 2x2GB DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 (Do I need faster memory to OC my CPU?) Vista Ultimate 64 What are the correct uguru bios settings for OC'ing a Q9550 on a IN9 32X-Max? Linked? Unlinked? etc... I need help. If I need to provide more info please let me know. Thank you, Jon Last edited by YZjon; 02-07-2009 at 09:29 PM.. |

| Re: IN9 32X-Max and the Q9550 I really miss the old forums "forum.uabit.com" as there was much information there for this kind of thing. I suppose I'm hard pressed to find help here for an older board like the IN9 32X-Max. Hopefully some of the great OC community forums will be able to offer me help with my crusty old outdated system! Is it safe to say the old forums were removed because of the amount of complaints there were from (mostly novice) people. It's to bad the valuable informative posts made by the great members there were lost, I was extremely disappointed to see all of that replaced by this single forum. Unless I'm missing something, ABIT replaced a robust in-depth forum containing many categories with this single forum? How does this place provide better support? Beyond frustrating. My apologies if I seem bitter but that's the gist of the situation after realizing the info I wanted is out of reach now. Thanks, Jon |

| Re: IN9 32X-Max and the Q9550 I've been searching and searching but haven't been able to find any information specific to the Q9550 and the IN9 32X-Max. I'm currently stable at 2.94GHz and I'm wondering if my bios settings are what they should be. I fully understand that I will have to increase several voltages in order to stay stable at higher clock speeds but, am I on the right track? Are the OCguru settings correct? When I increase the bus speed my mem frequency drops, is this normal? Here are some screens: ![]() ![]() ![]() During Prime95 torture test: Do my temps look ok for my current settings? ![]() Linked or Unlinked? Can I get up to 3.5GHz by upping the bus and voltages with this configuration? Are lower multipliers + higher bus speeds preferred? ![]() What is a good voltage configuration to start at for 3.2GHz? ![]() Should I try changing the timings to 5-5-5-15 and bump up the clock? Leave alone? I need faster memory to do what I'm asking? ![]() Thank you for reading and for any help received, Jon |

| Re: IN9 32X-Max and the Q9550 sorry for the delay in replying but I've been away travelling without internet for a week or so & obviously no one else replied ... Your new CPU is a 333fsb model & 330-350 is about all that you can expect out of a 680i with a quad so it's pretty much already at the board's limit with the CPU at stock.
