Ip 35 pro hangs at dmi pool data

Hello there! I have searched various sites on when systems hang on verifying data pool data. I have recently upgraded my old Abit IC7 max mobo to a IP35 pro. I have a Hitachi desktar HD 80gig that just holds my O/S of Win xp sp3 which I moved over to the Ip35. Once i get the verifying data pool and the system hangs, I wait for 5 to 10 minutes and I get please boot from CD. I checked the HD by installing in my other machine and it boots to XP with no problems. So I have ruled out a bad HD, I have uninstalled non necessary items such as sound card, etc. I have also removed one of my Kingston hyper X 1gb modules as well. My BIOS is rev. 14. Other specs Intel E7500, ATI HD4850, Hitachi HD mentioned above on IDE PATA and have swapped 3 different cables, ASUS CD drive on Sata 2, Antec tru power 650 power supply. I have reset the CMOS to no avail and beginning to think the mobo might be at fault. I did buy this IP35 pro used and is the only component that was not new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Re: Ip 35 pro hangs at dmi pool data

Ok! So I dug in my closet and found an old hard drive and decided to plug it in and then boot from my Win XP CD and load Win onto the old drive. Behold it loaded Win XP on the old drive and I have done several reboots with no issues. Guess it did not like my other drive...anyway will be buying a new drive and go from there!
