Re: Abit FTP Backup (including E0 Updates)

    Quick Question,

I have a recent, "yard sale" purchase
a used custom build system running XP-Pro SP3
    - MB is ABit KV8 Pro K8T800
    - Chipset is VIA K8T800 Pro + VT8237
    - AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 754, 2GHz

got it home opened it up to check the MB Mfg. only to search Google and find out that Abit is toast,
which is really kinda sad, as the board seems quite advanced for it's time,

I've been running it as is, but it's missing some stuff, eg. Cool n Quiet driver, etc.
and it was previously infected with adware, junkware, and junk toolbars
(as well as infected with IE7 and IE8) which was no small task to remove
so I'd prefer if I can do a rebuild

however, with no Drivers CD I can't do a rebuild as the previous / original build didn't save the downloaded driver files
or ran the installers directly from the MB CD which I didn't receive

can someone tell me which files I need to get from the FTP site for this system?

    THX

Re: Abit FTP Backup (including E0 Updates)

Server is up and running. Had a little mishap earlier this month though and accidentally firewalled myself in

If you can access http://91.121.194.115 (placeholder page), but not ftp://91.121.194.115, you've been banned by the FTP server for hammering, which usually happens if you either try to "grab everything" simultaneously, or just by using Internet Explorer (which tends to hammer the server with requests/connections) instead of a proper FTP client like Filezilla for example (or simply a different browser like Firefox, Chrome or Opera, all of which seem to behave themselves)

If you've been banned, go to Flagfox' Geotool and post the first parts of your IP here (i.e. 91.121.xxx.xxx if your IP is 91.121.194.115) so I can look you up in the server blacklist and remove your entry.

Re: Abit FTP Backup (including E0 Updates)

Still going strong nearly 8 years later. No plans to stop hosting this for the forseeable future, especially seeing how companies which very much have the resources to run an archive decide to nuke it (hello intel with your downloadcenter!)...

Still haven't managed to find out who runs http://abit.ws/ though, which is a clone of the original abit website with non-working links/downloads (leads to 0 byte files). If i could figure out who runs that and contact them, all links could be edited to point to the FTP (or a HTTP hosted version) to get all the download links on the site working and pointing to the right files, which would be one hell of a lot more convenient than having to dig through the folder structure on the FTP manually. But for now, that's all there is.

So yeah... Probably my last post for this decade, and it's hopefully a positive one to someone out there in need of this stuff

  15. Received thanks from:

HI Bambooz, I hope you are doing well. I just got a Fatal1ty f-190HD. I don't think it has ever been updated. I'm trying to do all the updates but can't find what I need. I have tried to look at your archive with no luck. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
