    Abit AW8 Error Code 7F with D 940

    Hi all,
we ordered some new gubbins for a dev server at work, but it is sticking on the bios screen with error code 7f. Unfortunately we can't get into the bios or boot. We think the bios is too old to use the D940 as we have version 1.4 and 1.5+ is required for according to the Abit site. Am I wrong in this analysis? and is it possible to upgrade the bios with the wrong CPU in? or pilfer an older CPU for the upgrade. We bought the board a week ago from Ebuyer.
    Known details: AW8, Pentium D 940, 2x 512mb DDR2 (crucial I think), 2x Seagate 160GB, 3com gigabit ethernet card, audio daughter board in use.

    Thanks for any help.

7F wouldnt normally indicate that there is a problem. Most of the time is down to the keyboard. Is the keyboard powering up? What type of keyboard is it?
