    "No TV Tuner Device"

    Hi, all.

I just picked up a "Visiontek" ATi TV Wonder 600 USB tuner.

It looks great plugged into my laptop (HP Compaq nc8230) and shows up in the device manager as "ATI TV Wonder 600 USB 2.0"

The problem is in the Catalyst Media Center. It says "No TV Tuner Device" when I click on the TV "button"

I have done multiple reinstalls, got (what I think is) the latest version of the drivers and tried each and every USB port on my laptop.

    Can anyone please help ?

Tech support offered this nugget: "Reinstall the operating system" ... and that's not going to happen. I don't have another laptop (or desktop) to try it out on, either.

    Thanks !

hey dude... sounds like you have the wrong catalyst driver installed for that series of card...

got to the ATI website and try and see if theres a particular installation for that series of card as they will be differences.
failing that google the name of your card + problem

    Re: "No TV Tuner Device"

I have been reinstalling my TV Wonder 550 almost weekly d/t the 'No Tuner Device' issue. Tech. support had no real answer for why my system keeps 'losing' the program. Only suggestion made was to switch to another IDE slot for the card. That has not changed anything. I just keep reinstalling the software each time this happens. Is there any more permanent solution. BTW, I have the latest drivers for this.

    Re: "No TV Tuner Device"

I think i may have ran into the same problem you did here, but seem to have got around that. What I did was download the driver from the ATI.com.

Steps you want to make sure you do is in the add/remove application thing, make sure you uninstall the USB Video Driver. Make sure you fully remove that thing, and restart the PC, then install the new driver.

    hope this helps

Thumbs down Re: "No TV Tuner Device"

I get the same message with my ATI HD 650 TV Wonder card w/ Vista certified. The troublshooter at ATI basically told me that was my problem and to call Microsoft. What great service.
