    Theater Mode with Radeon HD3200

I just purchased a new system with an integrated Radeon HD3200 graphics with VGA & HDMI ports...

I have my Acer monitor connected via VGA & my 37" SOYO HD TV connected via HDMI port...

After much trial I have managed to get either the clone mode or extended mode to work, but I can't get the theater mode to work at all..

My older computer had a Radeon 9200se (yeah, I know... that's real old....) and I could get theater mode working on it no problem with the same tv on a DVI port, but I can't get it to work now...

I've tried all the instructions I was given by ATI support, but theater mode doesn't seem to work... I've updated to the Control Centre 9.4, but again... no theater mode ...

I'd really like to get this set up like I had it with my old system ...

Can anyone give me ideas or know how to get this working... thanks...

What is it that theatre mode did that you want to replicated? I assume you want to look in AVIVO for the settings you require.

Re: Theater Mode with Radeon HD3200

ok...In "theater mode" I'm supposed to be able to play any video on my desktop and it will show in a window on the display 1 (my Acer monitor) and show full screen on my display 2 (my TV)..

I have already checked the settings in the AVIVO area of the Catalyst Control Centre ... but it's still not working...

I can "clone" or "extend" to the TV in the displays manager, but nothing in "theater mode" & I've tried all the settings under "Theater Mode"

Re: Theater Mode with Radeon HD3200

In “clone mode” I get the exact same views on both the monitor (display 1 – VGA) and TV (Display 2 –HDMI) … the video is played within a window … I can “full screen” the window but again it’s the same on both screens

In “extend” mode I can “drag” the window over to the tv, but again it plays in a “window” unless I “full screen” it, then it plays full screened but keeping the original formats of the video…

When I enable theater mode in either “clone” or “extended” there is no difference to the display of the video… I don’t get the same “theater mode” effect I did with my old system…

I’ve tried different “Desktop area” settings, colour settings, and force settings but I don’t get any change at all…

Here’s a rundown of each setting I’ve got … not sure if it will help, but anyway…

    Displays Manager:
Clone Mode (which is what I used mostly with my old system)
Selected Display: ACER X203H + HDMI TV [ Clone ]
Desktop Area: 1280x720 (I found that 1024x768, 1152x648, 1280x720, & 1600x900 are the only desktop areas that will show anything on my TV, for all others I get “no signal” on my TV)
    Colour Quality: Medium
    Refresh Rate 60Hz
    HDMI Support:
Add 1080i30 format for Display Manager [NTSC] – checked (my TV is only 1080i)

    Theater Mode:
    In Theater Mode(full screen) selected
Theater Mode Settings: “Scale to Full Screen” selected

I understand that it’s probably just a setting or two, but I feel like I’ve tried every setting possible & I can’t figure it out…

Have you looked in the avivo settings?

Re: Theater Mode with Radeon HD3200

I remember theatre mode on ccc, i have it under avivo> theatre mode, it could be that the onboard isnt compatible, you could need a pci-e card to make use of it.
