Linux drivers won't allow 1680x1050. How come?

Hi, running a 4850 with Ubuntu, the proprietary drivers only go up to 1600x1200 and there's no 1680x1050.

    Thanks.

Well I got 1600x1200, single monitor. It's not a hardware failure because I have that set up in Windows. I'm using Ubuntu 9.04, what drivers are you using? Everytime I install something else I get this crap. I'm sure your work machine does support that.
