Unhappy Problems with VIVO and a x800xl gigabyte

I thought it was time to try out vivo i have set up the dongle which came with the gigabyte card, used svideo in and a scart to the video input to my sound card for right and left audio.
I have tried to use Power director and Virtual dub and windows capture.
My problem is the play back is jumpy black and white with s-video strange colour with composite picture is terrible tried the drivers that came with the card and the newest ATI,
i have even tried using a dvd player same result.
Please help do you think the card is knacked?

Sounds a bit like a PAL/NTSC conflict to me, "strange colour". Sure you're feed either a PAL hardware with analog PAL or NTSC/NTSC?

We invented punctuation to make "word collections" meaningfull sentences a while ago...

What is a DVI camera with S-Video?
How can you feed S-Video in a HDTV (output) dongle ?
PAL(M) 60Hz is used in Brasil, is that what your PAL material comes from?
Does "a pitcher above the one you're watching" mean you have vertical ghost images, but unsteady? This will probably relate to the 50/60Hz mismatch.

The dvi is a video camcorder, the dongle i got with the Gigabyte card is a breakout box with video out connections for HDTV and video in with s video and composite.
The Pal setting was automatically picked for me by virtual dub it was called Pal 60 this was the best setting.
No matter what setting i try with pal i get a jumpy image and the quality is rubbish, am i expecting to much from ViVO?

    Thanks a lot!

I'm just saying 60Hz cannot be right, that's a broadcast standard in South America, nowhere else. But you're at least partially right, Radeon graphics with ViVo is not my product, still I tried to help. Maybe your application settings just don't work/change anything? Is there any difference depending on what you choose as input?

Don't worry about it now mike i cant be bothered i just wanted to transfer my video's to dvd but i don't like the quality thanks for your help mate.
I have just tried 3D Mark 2006 it gave me a crap score i wish ATI put HDR and SM3 on the X800xl my new card brought at Christmas is old already and i wish ATI informed everybody before Christmas about the release of the X1300 and X1600 agp i would have waited for one of them.

Maybe other users (not AiW users) have experiences with Gigabytes ViVo cards. This is a forum, so maybe somebody jumps on the thread...
Don't count too much on 3Dmark2006 scores, especially with SM2.0 hardware. It doesn't reflect game experience in a realistic way. X800XL is still a hot piece of hardware, good enough to play almost everything in 1280x1024 with max quality. HDR is a nice, especially WITH antialiasing, gaming at 1600x1200 or bigger is great, but you better would go for a PCIe system and X1800 anyway. There is no AGP in the high-end, so you will have to change one day... 8*)

3dmark 06 was not designed for benching your card thats why your score is so low it can only score you on 2 tests as far as im aware

im a happy bunny with my score tho 5994 on a club3d x1900xtx clocked to max in overdrive but with a stock cpu amd 64 x2 4400 looking at cooling options for the cpu now so i can get it clocked to about 3 gig then ill see what it scores before finally crossfiring it wooooooooooooohooooooooooooo

oh and to add to you original question about black and white picture i also run another system with a 9800se AIW and that goes black and white if i use the svhs socket input but its colour on the rca inputs dont matter what i tryed i couldnt find a workaround but i think it has something to do with a known problem with direct x9 and pal conflicts quality was comparable with vhs video tho so it is worth transfering stuff if you ask me dvd's take up less space and you can create your own chapter's
