Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

mixzing is paid for I believe after 14days?

Well if I open my media in doubletwist, close it then open in the stock player my artwork appears! I'm back to using the stock one as it has lock screen controls which doubletwist lacks.

I'm seriously fed up of the music player/album art issue with this phone (or should I say OS)
Ripped CDs fine, art works in itunes & mediaplayer, some dont have artwork so I put a jpg in the same folder...

Some show up, some don't...there doesn't seem to be a pattern to what works & what doesn't (eg embedded vs jpg in the folder)

Spent ages googling but no joy, can see that the phone makes a seperate 'Album Art' folder with no file type (but open fine as images) but why isn't it doing it for some? I can't work out where it gets the file names from so can't fake it either

    Aaaaarrrrgghh!
I am using this great free program called mp3tag (www mp3tag .de) to embed the cover art into the mp3's. It works really really great, and the coverart always shows up in the desire stock player.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

The artwork is already in the files for most of them (shows up in windows explorer with it at least) so it's not the only problem.
Will bear that app in mind though cheers.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

I'm having never ending problems with my Desire.

Firstly I had a 'lit' pixel which got fixed after a little bit of arguing with HTC.
Now the phone just keep restarting itself, sometimes around 10 times in a row it literally will just reboot itself randomly, no matter what I'm doing on it. I hope 2.2 fixes it cause I think(read:hope) it maybe a software issue.

Doesn't sound right at all. I would probably be back on the HTC if it's rebooting. Do you have many apps installed?

Quite a few yeah, but it hasn't came up with the warning about storage like it has before. When it does I just delete a few apps.

I was just wondering if you have a dodgy app that is causing issues? Hard to tell though...

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Yeah, there is nothing I installed before it started happening I don't think. Does seem most odd though. I'll probs wait a couple of weeks for 2.2 and see if that fixes it i guess, if not send it to HTC again.

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

Depends where you got the phone (ie store/online &/or direct with network). CPW used to use unlocked hansets I think, my Voda one is totally unlocked/unbranded. Orange brand them, not sure about 3 or Tmob?

Re: The Official HTC Desire Thread

T-Mobile has very minimal branding. Nothing on the box or the interface, just a T-Mobile splash screen after the white and green HTC one.

(boot squence: Pink swirl, HTC animated logo, T-Mobile animated logo, Android. Very fast too)

And that was the nudge I needed to just buy an unlocked Desire and get shot of my ageing 16Gb 3G.
