Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

There's the Techradar review, which seems to go the same way as most of them - interface really good, power good, screen awesome, battery rubbish. I could live with the lack of removable storage, as 32Gb is enough for me. But there's still the thing hanging over it about Tegra 3 not playing certain media...

Yeah, not loving the fact that the battery life is poor. Especially seeing as you cant whack a higher capacity (Or lower, or any other) battery in. But still want a new shiny toy Realised that I have only had by Sensation 6 months too! 6 Months - seems like a lifetime!!!! Such are the woes of a gadget fan...

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

My contract ends early June and I'm currently thinking the One X is the likely successor to my Desire. Not keen on the massive size increase though. Need to go find one in a shop and have a fiddle. Does it fit in a shirt pocket okay?

Its also good that most of my friends have just upgraded so they have Galaxy 2s or some Sensation variant so mine will be better!

Hmm the size kinda concerns me as i dont wanna have to squeeze it into my pocket all the time putting a lot of strain onto it, then risking it getting damaged as its almost on display.
The media thing really concerns me. Is there anything on the web to read up about it?

Interesting comparison review for anyone not sure which one to go for.

I have been having a look a tthe benchmarks for tegra vs A5x and various others, it seems the next iphone is probably going to blow the android phones away with regards to performance.

I've yet to find my Desire lacking in the performance department, if I'm honest...can't see the difference between the HTC OneX and Apple iPhone 5 being too much of a problem - and I wouldn't pay the price of the iPhone tariffs anyhow...

    SimCard - Saturday Delivery

    Phone - normal 24hr Courier.

Guess which arrived first? Guess which one I could pick up from the store if it hadn't arrived?

Yup, I've got the simcard, but no phone.....and the simcard I could (according to Vodafone) have picked up from the store...

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

Hi. i currently use Pulse RSS reader and notice how its very very slow retrieving updates and adding new rss feeds when using my wifi.

when i use my 3g connection via T mobile, its fine?

Chrome browser seems fine on wifi, so does gmail, But i notice that even facebook and tweetcaster is very very slow using it via wifi.

    Any suggestions?.

I tried tweaking my netgear router by reserving a local IP for my device and still diddnt work. im with"BeThere" internet.

The signal strength is max bars according to the device and my internet connection on my pc's are fast and acting normal. i am using a netgear DG834GT router.

    Thanks in advance

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

I'm currently in Copenhagen and they have a HTC shop.

Had a good play with it and I am very impressed size wise it didn't feel much bigger than my desire hd but it's fast and looks the part. The grey looks a bit naff but the white is good. Can't wait till I can upgrade

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

i actually had a play with a dummy one in a local store and im happy to say i agree with the size comment. It is a big phone, but what i was worried about was it being galaxy note big. Its not, HTC (as usual) have done some fantastic work on the design and the size feels warrented.
That was just a dummy, im looking forward to playing with it once the resolution can add its value.

The concern over the Tegra video playing issue is still kinda on my mind, but its become clear the hardware is capable of what the Tegra 2 fell short of (HP.246), the issue now is more based in software and should be fixed.

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

I'm actually more interested in the One S - there's something about buying the very top of the range phone that makes me pause. Sure, you lose the bragging rights of a Quad Core processor, but when was the last time your current smart phone felt slow or underpowered?

I've got one of these. Build quality and screen quality are great. It's just way too damn big. If HTC would pack all this into a 4" screened device and give us stock ICS, it'd be a killer.
