The HTC One X discussion thread

    Evening all,

As the HTC One X is due for imminent release, I thought it would be good to have one thread which would cover the phone/software options/reviews etc.

So, starting with the HTC page: http://www.htc.com/uk/smartphones/htc-one-x/

Any reviews worth reading? Any news on software options etc?

May have a vested interest in this thread as I've just ordered one....

    and

I was going to make my dad buy one then I would trade phones with him (GNex), but he got an iphone instead....FFS

All in all, HTC have seems to clean up their act, all three One line phones have solid reviews. 2011 was a disgrace.

    Engadget Review

    Cnet review

    Slash gear Review

    The Verge Review

    Pocket Lint Review

Best deal for it i have found so far (buymobilephones)

    Other decent deals (dialaphone)

As per my other thread, im seriously considering this phone. The T-Mobile contract on buy mobile phones actually works out cheaper than buying it outright then taking a sim only contract! It says its only 750MB per month but that is for downloads and streaming, browsing doesn't eat into that limit!

    BMP - £26 x 24m = £624
    Seperate contract = (£12 * 24m) + £480 = £768

Best thing ive seen about it are the incredible spec of the camera, i mean most of the specs apart from processor are strong, but the camera is amazing.

Re: The HTC One X discussion thread

This does look like the phone to get at this minute, but I'm waiting for the S3 to be officially announced before deciding. Don't want something that is going to become obsolete in a couple of months! Also not keen on the lack of a micro sd slot.

Important factor for me is the developer interest on XDA too, need to wait and see what that is like before deciding.

HTC no longer lock their bootloaders so there isn't really any reason why there wouldn't be a decent development community

SiM - I've never had any issue with the standard ROMs, though I know they can be improved upon. Given the performance of the underlying hardware, I'd be very surprised if there wasn't an active developer community, given this phone offers far more opportunity than previous handsets?

the t mobile £26pm from buymobilephones. I cant see 3 matching it when there closest contract offer was £30-35 and that was already discounted. Il call them tomorrow, i can always cancel/DSR return if want.

Been looking at this recently as well, to possibly replace my Sensation. Weighing up the increase in size (and the whiteness - urgh) compared to the camera... Thats the big thing for me, the camera HW/SW combo looks fantastic, and its the only thing thats really wrong with the Sensation.

Not particularly loving the lack of removeable battery and also SD card slot, but hey compromises eh...

You can get it in black aswell ya know? I have

3 tried everything they could, even bending mathematical rules to make it sound like their deal was cheaper... but they couldn't match it. They did offer me my current phone contract reduced to £10 a month which is pretty good, but still not good enough to make it cheaper than the t-mobile offer, even with me paying off the last month of my contract early.

Yeah, I actually have been having a sneaky check at contracts whilst at work, and noticed that. I've only ever seen white ones in videos/reviews which is why I thought that.

Might be toss up between the X and S really, at that might be the best middle ground, whilst still retaining the camera HW.

Very tempted to get one but I have a Sensation so not a huge upgrade, on the other hand I should be able to get over £200 for my Sensation which would make it a cheap upgrade and I can get it at cost through work.

    Hmmm
