Depending on your network you might not get any 4G connection, as the One is missing a few bands used in the UK.

1+ doesn't support 4g on o2 as it uses band 20. EE / 3 network will have better luck. HSDPA+ speeds were decent on my previous handset.

I get 5 hours of screen on time with 4.4.4 which is two more than I used to get.

What's the ROM that you used?

today with more average usage its down to 65% after being unplugged since about 8.30. Rom was this one:

found the camera to be crap on mine, too much hdr, not enough focusing.

put he google camera app on and alright now.

The camera works brilliantly, but I find it depends on how much you're willing to fiddle with the settings. I've done a bit of reading on it, and I'm now able to take some really nice shots with it

Urgh I'm SOOOOO tempted to get one but I'm not sure I want a bigger phone. Whats it like in comparison to the S4/S5 sized devices?

I had an Xperia Z1 before and because of the curvature and extra grip, it's nice in the hand. I only use my phone two handed really anyway, but it doesn't annoy me any more than a 5.2 inch screen.

At the end of the day, if you don't like it you're within your legal rights to return it (or sell it). I can't guarantee you will like it, because the extra size isn't for everyone, but personally, if it gives me a bigger battery and a better media experience, it's worth the tradeoff.
