    Re: OnePlus One

Oh okay - I don't think they're even facilitating 4G yet. I tried them but wasn't impressed and found them to offer poor signal here in Cardiff vs 3. Now that they only offer unlimited data on 18 pound goodybag even less of a reason to go with them, personally. With 4g around my college I often stream YouTube videos in 720p to my phone and can reach 10GB in a month no problem.

Not to be off topic though, what's the OPO like to hold in the hand, and how's battery life? I find its a bit slacking on my Z1.

    Re: OnePlus One

I've got it to two days with 5 hours of screen on time.
Currently at 10 hours since charge with 1h20m screen on time and we're at 68%
I don't think i'd ever be in danger of it discharging in one day unless I spent all day using it.
Holding it - I've got the clearcase bumper on the back of it and find it no problem at all - the volume and power buttons are designed to be further down than the traditional positions so you don't have to stretch overly.

    Re: OnePlus One

My Z1 isn't too big, just not nice to hold because of its shape. May consider the HTC One M9 when it comes out. 5.5 may be a little too big. Will have to wait for Sony to get back to me about my phone that's still broken after them having had it for 3 weeks supposedly fixing it. And to top it off, camera has also gone.

I have switched my Moto G LTE from Dalvic to ART in the developer options. It lost me a little storage space (not enough to care) but it seems to have improved the battery life. I wonder if I can go three days now, I am usually on about 45% when I put the phone on charge at the end of every other day. It was a bit scary to switch on an experimental feature, but so far it has worked well.

Yeah ART seems better for both battery and responsiveness - might be placebo effect though

Dunno, I only switched it on to try and improve bluetooth streaming so I wasn't looking for better battery life

Just thought if people are trying to stretch their battery as long as possible it was worth knowing about.

    Re: OnePlus One

Got my 64Gb 1+1 yesterday (missed the delivery on saturday), very happy with it so far - no OTA updates available so it was the latest build already installed.

Rooted in 10 mins and installed most of my usual apps. The phone is wicked fast as expected. Liked the little sim ejector tool keyring - took me a minute to work out what it was! I was worried the phone would be far too big, but it's honestly not anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. It's not small but I don't look odd holding it against my face, and can use it one-handed.

I had ordered one of the official flip cases with it, it feels a bit cheaper than the pictures on the site have you believe, but it's better than the garbage you get off eBay.

Only problem now is I used a sim cutter to convert my normal sim down to a micro sim and it broke the card, so have to wait for a replacement.. I've got an Orzly tempered glass screen protector on the way as well, so probably best I don't take it out just yet anyway.

The only "bad" point I've noticed so far is the camera is blurry if you have even slightly shaky hands (in artificial light) - not tried in daylight yet.

    Re: OnePlus One

Yes it doesn't have optical image stabilisation, probably one of the major negatives for me, so long exposures times in low light were never going to fair very well. I've heard people say it still beats the Nexus 5's camera (which I think is a decent shooter) so if that's the case I'll be happy.

It's a 13mp Sony sensor I believe and from what I've seen, in daylight it matches the quality of many smartphone cameras. I know it's not just the sensor that depicts the quality of the photo, but it has its part to play.

    Re: OnePlus One

I'm fairly mixed on the camera thus far - i've had *some* amazing shots but a fair amount of blurry ones(perhaps I was spoiled by my Nexus 5's OIS) but looking at the results other people put out on the reddit oneplus forum, i'm probably just failing to use it properly.
